Our Next Production ....... Made in Dagenham

Made in Dagenham is a different type of show for us.  Most of the shows we have done over recent years were written in the heyday of Broadway musicals - shows by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Gershwin, Berlin etc.  Made in Dagenham, though, is much more recent.  Written in 2010 it depicts the real-life industrial action taken by the sewing machine ladies at the Ford Motor Company factory in Dagenham, Essex in 1968.  These ladies, against all the odds, took on corrupt US businessmen, the UK Government of the time under Harold Wilson and even their own union officials ... and WON!  Their actions ultimately led to the passing of the 'Equal Pay Act' in 1970.

This is a gritty, humorous, sad, triumphant and, above all, entertaining musical with some great songs.  It's also a little risqué, with some 'industrial' language and the odd adult reference.  We are sure our audiences will love it.

The show will run from Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd March 2025, at McLaren High School, with Wednesday to Friday performances starting at 7.30 pm and Saturday at 2.30 pm.
